Celebrating the Launch of The GRID: Greystones’ New Hub for Innovation and Growth

The East Wicklow Business Network (EWBN) was honored to attend the recent launch of The GRID (Greystones Regional Innovation District), a visionary new business hub in Greystones, officially opened by An Taoiseach Simon Harris. This state-of-the-art facility represents a bold investment in our community, bringing opportunities for innovation, economic development, and collaboration right to the heart of East Wicklow.
The GRID is much more than just office space—it’s a dynamic environment that provides businesses and professionals in our region with access to premium workspaces, including private offices, co-working areas, and hot desks. This modern facility is designed to foster connections and partnerships that will strengthen our local business ecosystem and help it grow.
We were particularly inspired by the idea that while The GRID is new to us, it will soon be a familiar resource for the next generation. Thousands of local students will grow up with this resource as the norm—a place that inspires ambition, supports innovation, and creates pathways for careers in Wicklow. This shift signals a new chapter for the local economy, raising the bar for what’s possible in our region, commented Feargal McKenna
The GRID is also an example of the power of collaboration, with leaders across sectors and government working together to make it a reality. Notably, we were joined by members of the Wicklow County Council, including Chief Executive Emer O’Gorman, whose leadership was instrumental in bringing The GRID from vision to reality. This project is also an exciting milestone for EWBN, marking our first official collaboration with Wicklow Local Enterprise Office and Bray Chamber of Commerce, and providing a new location for our upcoming event on November 20th, which will include a private tour of this impressive facility.
